Short Bio: Namie’s uncle is the owner of a huge family business called Yagiri Pharmaceuticals. Her parents originally were to succeed the company, but after a serious error on her father’s behalf, her family was completely banished from the company core and excluded from inheritance. Her parents fought and grew distant from their children, leading to her abnormal affection towards her brother. Her uncle also failed to show much care for the two children, save for occasional gifts that often consisted of expensive dolls. When Namie would come over to his house to play with her cousins, he would show her their family heirloom; a living head. She didn’t feel much interest towards it, just as she didn’t feel much interest towards her dolls. However, again like her dolls, she decided to show her brother the ‘head’ without her uncle’s permission. This was her one and only regret in her life, as her brother ended up falling in love with the ‘head.’ A being that had neither body nor a heart stirred rusty red jealousy in her heart, and caused a series of events that later ended up costing her position as Chief of Yagiri Pharmaceutical. She now hides with the ‘head’ in Izaya’s apartment, working as his secretary.
Personality: Namie is often described as strong and direct. She is impatient and demanding towards her subordinates, and will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. To most people, especially strangers, she gives off an icy aura, always speaking in an equable and frigid tone. She is sarcastic and logical, giving off a professional vibe. The only time she shows kindness is when her brother is near, immediately pampering and sweet in every way. Anything her brother does, she forgives and covers up. The more her brother does wrong, the more he needs to rely on her for help.
Fighting Ability: Namie is rarely seen doing anything overly physical, as she usually relies on her subordinates to protect her. It is also suggested that she tries to poison Izaya's food in the novel.
Other: After becoming Izaya’s secretary, she is told to join the Dollars. She also has a surprisingly high salary in her new job.
