Ikebukuro City

Ikebukuro is a commercial and entertainment district of Tokyo and the largest city in Toshima-ku.

It is the main setting of Durarara!! and is home to our protagonist, Mikado Ryuugamine and his two friends. It is also home to many myths, as well as the infamous color gangs that fight for territory in Ikebukuro. Kidnappings occur regularly. Ikebukuro has many strange people, such as the insanely strong debt collector, Shizuo Heiwajima, and the underground doctor, Shinra Kishitani, who lives with the headless rider, Celty Sturluson. A gang known as the Dollars recently appeared in Ikebukuro and has grown to immense sizes. The headless rider is a myth about a female without a head that rides a silent motorcycle, and it's said she can create objects of out darkness. Another myth has risen, as well... The Slasher. An recent incident involving the Slasher has caused much strife between the gangs that reside in Ikebukuro. It seems that another gang war may soon begin, this time involving the Dollars, the Yellow Scarves, and the army of the Slasher.
