Appearance: About average height, Izaya is wiry, with black hair and reddish-brown eyes. He's fairly pale, and he typically wears a grin of some sort--though this grin ranges from friendly to mischievous to downright frightening. His trademark coat is black with white faux fur.

Short Bio: The Orihara household was supposedly a fairly normal place to live for Izaya and his younger twin sisters, Kururi and Mairu. As a teen, Izaya attended Raira Academy with Shinra and Kadota, and thusly, met Shizuo. From the moment they met, they were instant rivals. Shizuo immediately (and illogically) aimed a punch at Izaya and Izaya slashed Shizuo’s shirt open with his knife. The two have been enemies ever since and Izaya has plotted Shizuo’s downfall a number of times, at one point framing him for a crime which made Shizuo lose his bartending job. Izaya eventually becomes an informant for the mafia, creating a number of ties and devising strings that can later be pulled for his own benefit. At some point, Izaya meets up with Mikado in an online chat room, under the female alias “Kanra” and is invited to join The Dollars. Izaya accepts, and after Mikado gives up on the group, Izaya keeps it going, sending out floods of invitations to many new members.
Personality: Izaya easily seems like a bit of a sociopath. He claims to love the whole human race, but doesn’t seem to experience emotions in the way most normal people do. Though often friendly, to the point of being jolly and speaking informally with others, there’s usually some menacing feeling about him that implies he’s plotting something. At other times, his behavior is erratic and frightening. Most everything he does or says is in order to manipulate others, or to see their reactions to his strange behavior. Izaya acts confidently and takes pride in his ability to predict the behavior of others, so much so that he sets up detailed plots that rely almost solely on such predictions. Izaya takes pleasure from conflict, but more so from the conflict of others. He prefers to stay out of it and watch the battle play out below him, much like a god.
Fighting Ability: Though not necessarily as physically strong as some other characters in the series, Izaya is quite spry. He’s a master at parkour, and will hop around in battle, dodging blows until the moment it is ripe to lash out quickly with his flickblade. His nimbleness is his key to success and he often escapes the ever murderous Shizuo simply by running away and evading the scattered vending machines.
Other: Izaya prefers bitter foods and doesn’t like sweets.
