Character Biography
Short Bio: SHINRA was born to his MOTHER and SHINGEN KISHITANI on April 2ed. His mother died in childbirth and he was raised by Shingen, traveling overseas with him a couple times. At the age of four, he meets a dullahan named CELTY STURLUSON on a boat back to Japan. Celty came to live with him and his father, after allowing Shingen to perform an autopsy of her – an operation Shinra participated in, by invitation of his father. Shinra, despite his mother’s absence, never saw Celty as a replacement for her and instead viewed the dullahan as a love interest, finding her the most beautiful being he’d ever laid eyes on. Shinra went to the same elementary school as SHIZUO HEIWAJIMA and was fast friends with him, extremely interested in his unnatural strength. He often asks Shizuo for a blood sample.
Shinra went to middle school with IZAYA ORIHARA and started a science club with him. He finds Izaya fascinating and would love to crack the code to his physiological deviancy. Shinra took a knife for Izaya, and per Izaya’s request, told the whole school Izaya did it. He always wondered why Izaya would want people to think he’d stab his friend. (Side note, Shizuo also went to this middle school, but somehow avoided contact with Izaya.)
In high school, Shinra went to the same school as Izaya and Shizuo. He introduced them. He finds their fights interesting, but is not above telling them they ruined his high school days. He got really good at stitching, thanks to them.
Shinra went to college.
His father marries a woman named EMILIA, who he met at Nebula corp. She’s as eccentric as they are, but calling her “mother” makes Shinra uncomfortable, seeing as she’s younger than he is.
Celty and he live together in Ikebukuro. Celty has finally returned his feelings and they are together as a legit couple.
Personality: Shinra is good natured at heart. He’s sweet, silly, and over-the-top when in a good mood. He’s an eccentric young man who loves analyzing things. But he can be selfish when it comes to Celty, his fear of losing her often getting in the way of his desire to make her happy. Loosing Celty is his biggest fear, and he gets very defensive about her and depressed at the thought of being without her. He is very protective of his lover. (This could possibly stem from the absence of his mother, but he refuses to psychoanalyze himself.) He has a poor relationship with his father and his very annoyed by him.
Fighting Ability:
Weapons: his badass dullahan girlfriend, a scalpel....
Strengths:His love for Celty gives him super strength! Not really, he just likes to think it does. He's basically a weak dude with no upper body strength.
Weaknesses: Celty. If Celty is in trouble or threatened, he'd sooner fold or stand in the way of someone he can't possibly fight than to give her up or let her get hurt. *see volume 8
