Rika Ryuugamine stood by the door of the train that was taking her into the city of Ikebukuro. She watched as the scene right outside the closest window she could see out of was slowly changing from many grass rice fields, to then the buildings of the underground subway map of Ikebukuro.

As the train cart that Rika was travelling in became more and more crowded with people heading into the city whether to work or visit, Rika herself began to wonder why she was going to Ikebukuro in the first place.

Well her main cause was that she was to enroll into a high school in Ikebukuro, the school was called Raira Academy, and she was going to attend it with her best friend Masaomi Kida. She had not seen her best friend in many years but they had managed to keep contact via online chatrooms so it was if they never stopped being best friends. So when Masaomi offered Rika a chance to come to Ikebukuro and go to school together once again at such an elite school, Rika was not going to turn it down for any reason. That lead to her other reason why she was in Ikebukuro, Rika wanted change. She wanted to get out of the rice patty fields and actually experience the life she so read about on forums in the chatrooms. To become a city girl rather than a country girl. Rika felt that in Ikebukuro was the place that would change her life. She wasn’t quite sure how but she could just feel it.

Oh she was getting nervous now and hiding the blush on her face by being so close to so many people in a closed train cart was becoming too much for her. Thankfully she did not have much more to wait as the train pulled to its final stop into the city.

“Eep!” was all Rika could say once the doors opened and she was literally pushed out of the train. Crowd then began to disperse with everyone heading their own way and she just stood there confused on where to go to next.

Since she had no idea where to even stand she unwillingly bumped into someone and immediately began to apologize.

“Oh god I’m so sorry! Please forgive…me?”

Rika had bowed her head to the person she had bumped into, but they did not care for Rika’s apology and just continued their way without giving a second glance.

Rika sighed because she knew she had to find one place to stand and wait because Masaomi would come and pick her up. That is what they agreed on because this was Rika’s actual first visit to Ikebukuro. She never went on the class field trips back in elementary and middle school for the reason that her parents simply would not let her. They were so overprotective of her and were even against her going to Ikebukuro, but nothing they did stopped her and there she was waiting, alone and scared in Ikebukuro.

She grabbed a hold of her book bag, making sure it was safe over her shoulder and tried to make herself become more confident as she waited on Masaomi.

Thank God it was about time to get back to school.

Last summer had been a horrifying experience that quite frankly, Masaomi Kida never wanted to face again. However, the discovery that Rika had taken and passed the entrance exams into the same high school as her almost completely lifted her spirits, and then the fact that she was going to move into an area nearby finished the job outright. When was the last time that she's seen Rika? Oh wow, it's been far too long. Wasn't her hair shoulder length and still brown when she left? She hasn't been a brunette for years, it felt like.

Masaomi had gone out of her way too make sure that she would beat Rika to the train station. For the past three years, she had been planning the perfect greeting in case her parents decided that Rika was a big girl and come visit. Of course, she never did, which is what caused Masaomi to be in the awful spot she had been in last summer, but everything was easily forgivable.

There she was...She supposed that sometime during puberty Rika had decided that she was going to get her long hair cut from that hime-style her parents usually liked her with, and that was completely cool. The short hair suited her, though now Masaomi felt a little silly for growing out her hair down and over her shoulder blades. What a switch. Or maybe Rika missed the memo and decided to go for a chic look, perfect for the city, when long hair was in. Oh, Rika Rika Rika, what was she going to do with the girl?

As Rika leaned against the pillar, Masaomi smirked and evil smirk, eyelids moving so they were half lidded as she gave that wicked smile she was wont to give in these kinds of situations.

Should she go through with it? No, that was dumb. Time to mess with her a little bit.

Masaomi moved so that she was well covered by the pillar, reaching out to grab Rika's chest. She used her free hand to cover her mouth, stifling her laughter before it could erupt from her lips. The fact that her nails were pink -- a color that Masaomi would never be caught dead wearing back when she was home -- should throw her off enough.

A few squeezes and embarrassed noises only left Masaomi leaning against the pillar and trying to stand, sliding down against the pillar as she surrendered herself to the giggle fit. Rika could be so freaking CUTE sometimes, but she'd be screwed if Masaomi was a chikan, quite potentially literally.

Rika leaned against the pillar and looked up to the roof of the train station wondering when Masaomi was going to show up. She was not aware that her best friend was behind her ready to pounce on her small front chest. Since Rika was not paying attention, it took her a few seconds to even realize she was being groped. Her eyes blinked, looking down at the pink nails on her chest. Rather than scream out in fear, Rika glanced behind her just in time to see the person who the pink nails belonged to, to slide down the pillar behind her and go into a giggle fit.

“Kyaa! Ma-Masaomi!” Rika exclaimed in surprise.

“Masaomi, is that really you? I hardly recognized you with your hair dyed blonde!” a light giggle came from Rika as she was finding it very hard to resist seeing her friend in such a happy state. “It’s so good to see you Masaomi, now get up here and give me a hug. I deserve that much after not having seen you for almost four years.”

As Rika extended her hand for Kida to take, she couldn’t help thinking that seeing her friend in front of her and being reunited after so long, it actually felt as if they weren’t separated at all and more than anything could not wait to start going to school with Masaomi Kida.
